This Privacy Policy explains what personal data BytesToBits (“we”) collects through the website bytestobits.dev, why we use it and what rights you have, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Greek Law 4624/2019.
1. Data controller
BytesToBits
Thessaloniki, Greece
Email: hello@bytestobits.dev
2. What data we collect
When you fill in the contact form, we collect:
- Your full name and email address
- Company name and phone number (only if you provide them — they are optional)
- The type of project you are interested in and the content of your message
- A record of your consent
The form does not record your IP address. The website’s hosting provider may keep technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type) for security and proper operation.
3. Purpose and legal basis
- Responding to your request and preparing a quote — based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Website security and spam protection — based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not make automated decisions about you.
4. How long we keep it
We keep the details of our communication for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we start working together — in which case we keep them for as long as the law requires (e.g. tax law) — or unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or transfer your data to third parties for their own purposes. Access is limited to the co-founders of BytesToBits and the service providers that support us (website hosting, email), who act as processors on our behalf. If a provider is located outside the European Economic Area, the transfer takes place with the appropriate GDPR safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data
- rectify inaccurate data
- erasure (the “right to be forgotten”)
- restrict processing
- data portability
- object to processing
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal
To exercise any of your rights, email us at hello@bytestobits.dev. We will reply within one month at the latest.
7. Complaints to the supervisory authority
If you believe that the processing of your data breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (1-3 Kifisias Ave., 115 23 Athens, Greece, www.dpa.gr).
8. Cookies
For the cookies used by this website, see our Cookie Policy.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update is always shown at the top of the page.
